Homecoming Highlights of the 1973 Homecoming activities, through January 8 to the 12, was the Powder Puff basketball game between the Senior, Junior, and Sophomore girls. Al- though the games were close and exciting, the Senior girls came out on top. The rock was painted late that night by the Senior class in the pouring rain. Friday started off with a Pep Assembly which was fol- lowed by a Noonie featuring CHINOOK. The Home- coming Court was announced here and attempted to do the twist in front of the Student Body. Homecoming chairman Sue Coley, also got a pie thrown in her face, all in good spirit. The Lincoln Abes defeated Stadium that night on our basketball court, which was followed by the traditional Homecoming dance. King Steve Dow and Queen Carol Olsen were announced here. 2 5 i 2 3 l S Pep Band. Lincoln's Pep Band participated at all home games and Friday morning pep assemblies. They showed continuous support throughout the bas- ketball season and helped raise the enthusiasm of the Lincoln crowd. The fifteen students who made up the band worked on their own time with the help of Mr. Jowders. Baritone player Wayne Brown said, We've worked hard for two years to make our band the best inthe city, and that's what it is. This year's banclg forthe first time, installed an electrifying system which cost two-hundred dollars.
