Soph Football The Sophomore Football team showed overall ability to win by compiling a 3-2-2 record. It was the first win- ning season for the Abes in several years. Chris Coley Quarterback played the key role in the success of the Abes and later stepped up to J.V. action. Then Bob Church stepped in and started connecting with split end Keith Baines. Also running hard with the ball was halfbacks James Kirk, Ed Gales and Dave Harrison. Coach Mullen said that defense was probably our strong point. Also leading the hard hitting was Roger Bennett, Rod Erfle, Clyde Duruy and Bob Fast. Coach Dalesky said actually it was a good season, the team worked well together. The Wilson tie was definitely the high point of the season, said Coach Mullen. He went on to say Wilson had never been beat or scored on for four years, but the Lincoln Sophs could have beaten them on both occa- sions. We had the ball inside the Wilson 5 yard line with ten seconds to go both times, said Coach Mullen, but we failed. . Football What a team was Lincoln's Junior Varsity this year. The attitude which was tremendous developed much team pride and confidence, bringing one of the best Junior Varsity seasons in several years. Outstanding players of this years team were halfback Floyd Campbell, flanker Lorenzo Harvey, ful1back-line- backer Bart Taylor, guards Ben Baker and Jan More- head, and linebacker Steve Vandersluis. This years Junior Varsity team took the City Champ- ionship with a 5-1 record. Coach Cartwright stated, a 6-0 record could have been, but in the last game sopho- mores had to be substituted because of injuries to the varsity players. If next years team has an outlook on football as this years team has had they will indeed be strong. Lincoln East Bremerton Lincoln West Bremerton Lincoln Bellarmine Lincoln Stadium Lincoln Mt.
