Daffodil Princess. . Happiness is . . . was the theme of this years Daffo- dil competition and to Senior Jennifer Lewis happiness is being Lincoln High School's 1973 Daffodil Princess. During the three week long competition the contestants were judged on their speaking, appearance, personality and deportment. The four finalists for princess were Michelle Shovlain, Carol Velez, Kim Pollard and Jenni- fer Lewis. The final decision was made by a group of out- side judges, student judges, and teachers. In her accept- ance speech Jennifer said, I will wear this crown with dignity on behalf of the faculty and student body of Lincolnfl During her reign Jennifer will be making 80 to 90 public appearances with the Daffodil court, in- cluding the Queen's Coronation in April. Homecoming Highlights of the 1973 Homecoming activities, through January 8 to the 12, was the Powder Puff basketball game between the Senior, Junior, and Sophomore girls. Al- though the games were close and exciting, the Senior girls came out on top. The rock was painted late that night by the Senior class in the pouring rain. Friday started off with a Pep Assembly which was fol- lowed by a Noonie featuring CHINOOK. The Home- coming Court was announced here and attempted to do the twist in front of the Student Body. Homecoming chairman Sue Coley, also got a pie thrown in her face, all in good spirit. The Lincoln Abes defeated Stadium that night on our basketball court, which was followed by the traditional Homecoming dance. King Steve Dow and Queen Carol Olsen were announced here. LEFT-Homecoming Court: Joe Wood, Vida Yingling, Elias Harvey, Rhonda Radford, Carol Olsen, Steve Dow, Patti Schmer, Gary Zak, Sandi Beimborn, Dave Bosley.
