Home Economics . Whether a person wanted to learn the basics of sewing or to learn about child care, meal planning, and interior decorating, the Home Economics department provided for the needs of all students. Sewing, cooking, and Home Management courses enabled girls to fulfill their two semester graduation requirement in very interesting ways. Senior Clothing student Diane Nugent, said, The thing I enjoyed most about the class was the way in which it was presented. Being able to progress according to my own abilities helped motivate me while working on my projects. Senior boys also enjoyed the Home Ec. Department because they could enroll in a boys foods class.
