The industrial arts system is skillfully designed to cover anything, from pottery, to car engines, to water skis, and earrings. Students with any kind of imagination can put forth their talents into projects in classes provided for them. ln the wood shop there has been a few changes including a new model for water skis, bows and arrows. The advanced students have been provided with a two-hour block which increases the oppor- tunity for more projects and a broader education. The drafting classes have been basically the same. Mr. Hergert, the drafting teacher, has in- cluded in his schedule an industrial math class. The class covers computing social security taxes and lumber and surface measurements. Girls are not left out of industrial arts by any means. ln fact there was a special class for girls sixth period taught by Mr. Foster. The class, for- merly called girls' home mechanics, was changed to girls' industrial education. The first semester cov- ered mostly metal work and the second semester in- cluded mainly drawing, woodworking and hand crafts.
