30 Administration As Well As Faculty Lead Curriculum innovations and changes, extensive use of staff skills beyond the school, honors, retire- ment, and bereavement were noted by the 1966-67 Lincoln faculty and administration. Lincoln students and faculty were particularly saddened by the death of Mr. Lloyd Hague, a Lin- coln teacher for thirty years. Best wishes for a pleasant and fortunate re- tirement went to Mr. Searle Hawley, Mrs. Phoebe Condon, Mr. Everett Mottler, and Mr. William Mul- len. Each will be difficult to replace, and followers of Lincoln athletics will recall Mr. Mullenis direc- tion in that area for the past 23 years. Faculty talents were widely recognized this year. Mrs. A. Nicholson, Business department head, was elected secretary of the National Business Edu- cation Association, Dr. Robinson, Mr. Sullivan, and Mr. Molina lectured for the University of Puget Sound, Mr. Coe and Mr. Trier assisted at Tacoma Community College, and Mr. Kerr led Western Washington extension classes. Three members left Lincoln for different pur- suits - Mrs. Betty Sullivan and Mr. Hubert Molina would complete doctoral work. Mr. Don Tracey, Lincolnsi talented art teacher joined the Tacoma Community College faculty. New in 1967 were Mrs. B. Totten, Home Eco- nomics, Mrs. L. Tippie, Mr. B. Brewer, and Mr. B. Ross, D.V.R., Mr. E. Watte, English, Mr. B. Tone, Social Studies, and Mr. J. Schafer, German, and Mr. D. Gray, Business Education. Mr. Landeis com- pleted the year for Lincoln's peripatetic chemist, Mr. R. Leach, who enjoyed a sabbatical tour of the Medi- terranean and and probing the Iron Curtain. Significant curriculum and administrative changes were the Business Education department which went under vocational status in relation to State Education Board policies, the Distributive Edu- cation program, directed by Mrs. Doerner, which expanded to include junior trainees. Also, the coun- selling staff cooperated with the Instructional Sys- tems Corporation of Palo Alto to introduce new programming methods. -fa ae... .. eww :gg 1 . ..,. new 4? . . sf. i T 2 , . . ,.. swf , gaffzfs :ri Zftlftfif 5 7 ' ua:-'S2:5'f5 . .F , - W l ' K ..
