John Sabol Helen Feutz Jim Harrington Presidenl Adviser Vice-President tuclent Council Furthers Chool Government Revamping of Lincoln's Senate was the first order of business for the Student Council this year. Under the advisorship of Mrs. Helen Eeutz, and with the assistance of Principal Kenneth Elora, the Council organized a program for holding Senate meetings during the home room period of Tuesday mornings. Ten committees-the Senate Rules and Procedure Committee, Special Events Committee, Finance Committee, Executive Committee, lnterf school Relations Committee, Elections Committee, Orientation Committee, Calender Committee, Asf semblies Committee, and the Health, S afe t y and Building Improvement Committee-were formed as discussion groups for bills and legislation. These ccmf mittee meetings were held on Thursday mornings during home room. The formation of these commit' tees is believed to be a big step forward in Student Government at Lincoln. In spite of the efforts of the Council and the Stu' ll dent Body, Lincoln's Activity Card Sales suffered a slight decrease this year. Although the decrease was small, it was enough to cause a loss to Stadium in the contest of Activity Card Sales. One of the highlights of the year for the Student Council was their trip to Olympia to see the Legisf lature. After enjoying a session of the House of Repf resentatives, the Council, Mrs. Eeutz, and Mr. Sharp went on a tour of the State Capitol. Playing hosts to the Abe Student Council for dinner that evening were the Olympia High School Executives. The clif max of the day was the Lincoln vs. Olympia basketf ball game. The Olympia Executives were visitors at Lincoln earlier in the year. Also on the councils agenda were two spring car washes. The proceeds from these successful money making projects were contributed to Affiliation and the Lincoln Scholarship Fund.

The goal of a P.T.A. should be to bring into closer relationship the home and the school, and this year's association, under the able leadership of Mrs. lack Munro, has reached this goal. Spearheading the Senior Finale, sponsoring a girl to Evergreen Girls' State, contributing to the Lincoln Exchange program, and raising money for the choir's trip to Boise, Idaho, are projects which more than justify the existence of P.T.A. A panel made up of Lincoln students presented to the P.T.A. members, a thumbnail sketch of the various clubs and activities participated in by their off spring. Pops, Cops, and Kids was another topic verbf ally explored by the parents and teenagers. just as the title implies, the relations between home and society are often bound by these three persons. Recently members of Hot Rod Clubs have particif pated in P.T.A. discussions as to the pros and cons of the effect of such clubs on Lincolnites. Mindful of the fine leadership in the past, the 37 board members honored past presidents at the Found' ers' Day meeting. Faculty member Art Carlson was given life memf bership in the association for his work and contribuf tions to the school and community on behalf of the P.T.A. enate Estalnlislles This year Senate has saved old Father Time a lot of pains in more ways than one. The meetings are now held on Tuesdays and Thursdays during homef room. Not only is time saved but instead of having an average of only about 75 'lb of the members pres' ent, novv at least 95 '72 of the members are at all the meetings. By dividing the Senate into individual committees, more was accomplished in a shorter length of time. Cn Lincoln Day the student body enjoyed the festivities planned by the Special Events Committee. Because Lincoln lost the activity ticket sale at the beginning of the year, the Assembly Committee planned the Stadium exchange assembly.
