Forewor . . . And as seen from any angle, 'twas a wisely ordered plan. Before any structure, plan, or idea can be completed or fulfilled there must first be a master plan. Without this blueprint no orderly progress can result. Architects have drawn blueprints for Lincoln's new fine arts building which will soon replace the three wooden portables in use since 1916. So must each student blueprint his future, keep' ing in mind his ambitions, talents, and limitations. As structures must be planned to withstand the wear of time, our lives must be planned strongly to enable us to cope with life in this com' plicated modern age. Here at Lincoln teachers are the head architects who use the tools of knowledge, training, and understanding to help us formulate our plans. lt is with their help that we are able to map out our Blueprints for the Future.

At the May 10, 1955, elections a bond issue for a new Fine Arts Building at Lincoln was passed by the citizens of Tacoma. ' As every student needs a blueprint for his future life, he also needs buildings in which to study so that he might formulate these plans wisely. To the citizens of Tacoma and to the school board of District Number 10 in recognition of their farsighted planning for the students of tomorrow we, the 195 6 Lincolnian staff, dedicate our book.
