R The three main purposes of the Student Council are t unite all st dent organizations under one general control to promote the general activi ties of the school and to develop in the student an appreciation of his privileges and responsibilities as a member of a democratic assembly The Student Council which is composed of two girls and two boys from each home room in the Junior and senior high and one representative from each of the other organizations ln school IS the governing body in Lincoln High The council meets once a week and decides and discusses the general The executive committee which is composed of the president George Hol den the secretary Bette Fick the treasurer Mona Writer and the advisor M Boock grant all concessions Among the many service proyects carrxed on is the annual homecoming This year the homecoming pep fest and bonfire were held at the athletic field the night before the homecoming game The council is responsible for the Mr Boock Advisor pep fest and the homecoming dance following the Friday night s game February 3rd the annual date dance was held Music was furnished by jimmy Paul s orchestra Waitresses and waxters served refreshments to the tables surrounding the floor Student Council served as host to the Hrawathn Music Clinic held in Lake City An information booth was set p refreshments were sold, and a lunch was served This year the council put out a handbook This has been attempted several times, but never completed Jim Hanson chairman of the committee, and the committee itself worked hard to see that it was completed in time for next year s school term A suggestion box was set up and all suggestions were discussed so that some of these might bet ter our school Awards are also given by the council to the Honor Society athletic groups G A A Torch and cheerleaders This worthy organization promotes many activities and finds ways to better our school 36 ' 0 ff. , Z, .
