Tregma n, Coa eh VVacker As the years roll up in numbers, the girls who played on the basketball team will always remember Wonderful times at Lincoln. ltlaybe practice was until five or after, but no matter how hard she was made to work, each girl did her part. As Ginny Johnson and Gloria VVeitzman look back on their high-school days, they will most assuredly remember those long hours of practice, the exciting competition and the thrill of winning a big softball game. These girls will be sure to remember the exciting season of their senior year when the softball team made a valiant effort to retain the Public League cham- pionship of 1956 but lost it to our great rival, Frankford. Volleyball 99 Seniors J. Calhoun, B. Carrol, R. Tumolo, J. Cook. Manager The bowling team has rolled itself into another championship with the assistance of a few real Keglers like Joan Macrino and Lois Summerfield, members of the 14th graduating class. These girls have helped to keep the public high bowling title within the hallowed walls of Lincoln. Strike,' is the word our pin maids especially have liked, and each playing season they have gone all out to bow1,' over all opposition. Looking back, We're sure to remember the black and gold keg- lers as champs. 5, iff! f r'a if N 'Qi my Lincoln's girls, gym has been the scene of many exciting volleyball games for quite a few seasons. Billie and Jean will long remember tiring hours after school practicing for a big game, rough compe- tition, and the thrill of winning a cham- pionship. Volleyball has been a great game for developing teamwork and good sports- manship. Tennis The skill of shooting a bow and arrow dates back even before the days of Robin Hood and his merry band. The Lincoln High archery club preserves this age old sport every spring as the girls take careful aim and attempt to get a bull's eyef' Besides learning to use these age-old weapons, these skillful Lincolnites have been taught, first and foremost, the safety rules for healthy and happy contests. Streckis VVatch the birdielf' No, we're not tak- ing pictures. That's the cry that fills the air when badminton season rolls around and our Lincoln cuties set up the nets. Our interested seniors have enjoyed their afternoon practice sessions and games along with the other members of the team in this lively sport. The badminton team has won championships to keep up with the rest of Lincoln's prize winning squads and its trophies have been added to our many. 1 Archery Badminton First Row: D. Sachsenmeir, A. Sokol, Coach Emery A back-handed return and a point for Lincoln! That's the cry at the tennis matches during the spring term here at Lincoln. A few of our graduating seniors, have been members of the tennis team and have enjoyed Working with their teammates and coach, Bliss lNIaude Sharp, in this skillful game. The game has been terrific for keeping the gals in shape and they really loved it. Their bright white uniforms dotted the macadam courts all spring and kept Lincoln looking cheery. First Row: M.
