Girl's Athletic Association Seniors were Billie Carrol and Marianne Duzenski Shuffle one, shuffle two, step together, step kick! After January ,58 is history, Barbara, Marianne, llarge, Ina, Marilyn, and Franny will miss that familiar direction along with many others. They have not only been taught new dance steps but have an opportunity to work out their own ideas. These creative ideas have been seen in assembly programs, the Jamboree and many other special events. Leaders Club fx , 1 ,if ...I-1:f,..'iLQ?25?i U 'W 'Q sf srlci . tt ' if . These girls have done a marvelous job of giving awards to Lincoln's female athletes. The awards are based on points for being on the varsity teams. After the student has received her varsity letter, she is presented with a felt L,,' the following term a bracelet, and the highest award is a charm worn as a locket. Aside from pre- senting these awards, the girls also sponsor an ele- mentary school track meet and the Girls' Intramural Gym Meet. Our lovely display case at the rear of the auditorium has been another creation due, in part, to the ingenuity of the G.A.A. The girls were chosen in 9A, two from each grade. They remained in the club until graduation keeping a total of 16 girls every term. The services of this organization have been of great value not only to the gym department but to the whole school. Dancing First Row: F. Mollen, I. Bugen, M. Duzenski. Second Row: Miss Marco, B. Johnson, M. Edgerton, M. Iona, Mrs. Emery The Leaders' Club has long provided a way for non- athletes to raise their gym marks by offering an after- school activity in which these girls are given special assistance in improving their apparatus work and gymnastic skill. This club has also aided quite a few of our better female gymnasts in preparing for the intra- mural gym meet which is held once a year. Members of Leaders', will always remember the dark, quiet hall- ways of Lincoln about 4:15 on Friday afternoon.

Their cheers have been heard above the din at Lincoln's football and basket- ball games. School spirit is built up when the peppy girls lead the student body in rousing cheers. They participated in the Norristown and lllerchantville cheer- leading contests, consisting of cheerlead- ers from the Delaware Valley area, in which they fared extremely well. To become a cheerleader, the girls had to first try out during lllarch. After being chosen from this primary, they cheered at Lincoln's annual black and gold jam- boree. The varsity girls were then selected from this remaining group by the varsity cheerleaders and Miss Smith. Among the many cheers presented, Ziggity Boom and the Lincoln Loco- motive have been the two favorites a- mong the Lincolnites. Without the en- thusiastic support of the cheerleaders many of our teams could never have been city champs. A IZ R A H A M I-ll1iC0Iji Sen1orsJ Macrlno B Hanna B Maerz I Bugen
