B inks 28 For those who aspire to bc teachers, there is the Future Teachers of America Club. Here We received in- struction :tnd training. The training was often put to practical use by substitu- ting for teachers and by tutoring other students who desired help in the various subjects. The club's zietivities in- clude trips to neighboring universities und teachers' colleges.

Splinters Splinters, Lincoln's literary magazine, was an embodiment of the wishes of stu- dents and faculty for a means of artistic written expression. Our class has left behind a robust mag- azine that will continue to grow in pres- tige and size. lve have started something lasting. B. Lawler, R. YW-inling, Mr. Conard The Circle Club was first organized in 1950, by Frank Jones. The purpose of this club was to keep the surrounding communities informed as to what was taking place at Lincoln High School. Sponsored by English Department head, Benjamin J. Conard, the club met monthly. 27

Ward The sound crew operated Lincolnls public address and amplification system. The club was sponsored by Joseph Murri, electronics shop teacher. George Pfisterer, president of the club, directed many of the activities which took place after school hours, such as the Home and School Association meetings. Business, the granite foundation of A- merican economy, was not only studied but practiced in the school store. Main- tained by the distributive education stu- dents, it is Lincoln's practice ground for tomorrow's salesmen and executives. Sound Crew Seated: E. Gorenflo, G. Pfisterer, Mr. J. Murri, C. Curry, R. Lenin The stage crew handled the complex task of drawing the curtains and operating the lighting in the Lincoln High School auditorium. The boys were also in charge of all lighting and properties for the Jamboree. Many hours were spent under the di- rection of George Barber, sponsor, in building scenery for the Christmas Pag- eant.
