THE LINCOLN LOG LINCOLN LOG The Lincoln Log, usually a four page monthly news- paper written for and by Lincolnites, made its debut shortly after Lincoln's open- ing in February, 1950. Contained in the Log are timely and interesting arti- cles, poems, short stories, and photographs. Editor -in - Chief, since February 1955, has been Sandra Newborg. Past lit- erary advisors were Mr. Ronald Cain, and Mr. Ire- dell Aucott. Succeeding Mr. Aucott is Mrs. Sydell Rabin. Business Advisor is Mr. Nathan VVeiss. - Bottom Row: P. For three consecutive years. the Log has won first place in the Columbia Press Association competition. School papers entered in this contest are judged on the basis of news and sports coverage, writing, editing, make-up, and general use of journalistic principles. Thus, through the years, the Lincoln Log has grown in quality, if not in size. Occasionally there are de- luxe publications. One of these six page editions was the Fifth Anniversary Issue, published in 1955 to com- memorate Lincoln's fifth an- niversary.
