Track and Field g The vcindermen ol I955, under lhe able coaching ol Mr. Harry Nelson and Mr. Roberl Polidor, showed a marked improvemenl in running evenls over lhe leams ol previous seasons. Mr. Polidor handled lhe boys in lhe .running and lield evenls, while Mr. Nelson handled lhe hurdle and long dislance runners. One ol lhe oulslanding members ol lhe leam was co-caplain Rod Roberlson, who caplured lhe Eriars Senior Sociely One Mile Run, as well as many mile and hall-mile races. Seniors on lhe squad were: Roberl Evans lco-caplainl, Roberl Halerl, Larry Kenney, Ed Marlin, Arlhur Miller, Ron Miller, Erank Washick, Richard While, William Wil- son, and Andrew Yoder. s .-.. . . .As - The cross counlry leam, under lhe coaching ol Mr. Harry Nelson showed a big improvemenl over lhe leams ol previous years. During lhe league season Lincoln delealed all ol ils opponenls excepl Overbrook High School lo whom lhey also losl lhe Public High School Cross Counlry Cham- pionship. ln lhe lnouirer lnvilalion Cross Counlry Meel lhey placed lourlh, losing only lo Wesl Calholic, Qvere brook, and Roman Calholic in lhal order. The oulslanding member ol lhe leam was Co-Caplain Rod Roberlson, who nol only was undelealed all season, bul who won lhe Philadelphia Public High School Indi- vidual Crown. Seniors on The Team were: Harvey Silberman, Paul Piclcering, l-larry Capper, Barry Schell, and Fred STraub. GOLF The golf Team, under The coaching oT Mr. Kari S. Kalman, has done well in The public league maTches. They won Three games, losing only To CenTral T-ligh School: and were in second place in The public league. Mr. Kalman Teels ThaT The capTain oT The Team, Tom l-lorn, has done a commendable job. Tom was unde- TeaTed in league and non-league compeTiTion.
