II Your graduation from high school represents an important acheivement in your educational career. For most of you, your high school diploma will be an introduction to the labor market, in which there is fierce competition. All of you have experienced the decade of the roaring sixties - a period in which mankind made great studies in technology and placed a man on the moon and returned him safely to the earth. It was also a decade of violence- assassination, riots, and war. These conditions had a tremendous impact on the American way of life. You are now entering into the decade of the seventies. How will you face up to the many challenges that will confront you? How well are you going to move toward the realization of your career goals? Will you follow the line of least resistance and become a ne'er-do-well, or will you preserve until success is yours? This latter course of action will bring to you ob-security and happiness. I have faith in your ability to do. First that. Percy M. Q 1 X 'XX X x W The Parade Continues The Tigers Vs Bears This being our Homecoming, Lincoln showed its utmost talent. They dominated, they over-powered, they looked impregnable, they even shut East out. It seamed miracu- lous to others, but we, the Tigers knew we could do itg Our boys were outstanding as they exploded the biggest victory of the year over East with a score of 42-0. Couldn't a thing be said about us now except, iWE'RE THE BESTIJ 5 , I .ww . 5 if , X , it I .. 5 A Q h, , -..t..,,.,..w ff 'Q ff 9 1 I 'M X B. I fi Y A Q R- .1 J ,- - ,. xr? Then one of Lincoln's power-houses, Norman Groves, recovered a fumble and set up the tying touchdown by Kieth Huskey, who romped 39 yards. Then following a punt by Westport, Phillip Doolin carried 38 yards and Wayne White carried 17 yards for the winning touchdown with 4 minutes, 30 seconds left in the game. The Tigers Vs. the indians No. 1 vs. No. 1. We, the Tigers, No. 1 in defense were now face to face with South- west, No. 1 in offense. This game would show which team has the most talent. We unfor- tunately lost. Although we did lose we were not outdone because the victory was won' by a fraction of one point. The game was hard and undecided until late in the last quarter when Southwest jumped ahead by one point. At the end of the game the score was 29-28 with us the underdogs. The Tigers Vs Vikings Lincoln needed heat, but it wasn't neces- sary to defeat Northeast at this game. It was cold, so cold that old St. Nick, who was sitting on the opposite side of the field was wearing an overcoat and earmuffs. This wasn't enough to us though. We upset Northeast's thoughts about winning with a 24-18 victory. LITE r le of Q 39 'hillip 3 NH ne. 1 ith- Show I-- 'e not L and lien the 1 us :ces- 'as itting 'ing with Freshman -.........i,,......
