Upon entering Lin- coln for their sophomore year, these six students were scheduled for Math lll. New experiments were introduced in the geometry classes this year. Along with demonstration, geometry was also taught by lecture. The overhead projector was also introduced. ln the limited uses of these methods, it appeared that students learned as well, and in some cases even better, than they had from the ordinary methods. These methods will be repeated and extended next year. LEFT-Tom Rauens uses a mathematical table-, as Lois Blanchard looks on faculty-21

experiments hysics is principally a mathema- tical science. In physics classes ex periments were demonstrated and performed both by Mr. Anderson and the students. Mechanical, heat, light, sound, electrical, and nuclear energy were studied. Chemistry is a study of matter and its behavior. ln chemistry classes there was a close correlation be- tween theory and laboratory work. Chemical experiments were perforrnf ed in the laboratory. A basic part ot the course was writing formulas and equations and working problems. Biology is the study of plant and animal structure. Conservation and heredity were studied extensively. fe.
