Forever Burning ITH AN increased interest in education throughout the nation, Lincoln continued in her efforts to remain one of the top schools. More courses were added to the curriculum and more accelerated classes appeared. This year's enrollment increase called for more teachers, new equipment. and more classrooms. Studies increased in importance to all students as the nation's population took an increased in- terest in education. Students began to appreciate their education more as they learned of the lost class of '59 in the South. Classes at Lincoln covered an interesting var- iety of subject matter. While students in the commercial department mimeographed tests for science and math classes, social studies students listened to speakers from South Africa, Indone- ia, Alaska, Iceland, Pakistan, England. and Ba- ton Rouge, Louisiana. While boys in chemistry prepared an experiment, girls in machine calcu- lation figured their income tax forms. Wliile 5?
