Couples coming and going are a famil- iar sight in the halls and around the Your School, Your Life, HERE IS A tower atop a red brick building that casts a shadow on the bowl below. This is Lincoln. But there is more to a school than a campus and a silhouette against the skyeand that is you, the student. This is the spirit ot Lincoln. For many, there may be no realization of the feeling that catches up each activity and wields them into a moving body. The cheering at the pep rallies and the shouts and screams as the team takes the lloorfthese contribute in their ways, but there is more, much more A . . A hasty glance at one another as a boy and a girl walk down the hall . . . The groans as the kids read the weekly menu . . . Piles of jumbled notes accumulated tor term papers . , . Beards grown in hopes of a win , . . Waving Confederate flags at the exchangees , , . Frantically signing Flambeaus at the library , . . campus ol Lincoln. ABOVE, Football players allow a lucky senior girls to ex- amine the beards which they sprouted until they won their first game. LEFT, Spring sometimes finds the slopes and steps almost deserted. On particularly warm days, students head lor the lake and a cool breeze. 4-Opening

loined Together HE LITTLE everyday things, a thousand and one of them, insig- nificant in themselves, but together bringing a harmony, a union, And over all, looking down at things from the paintings on the three floors, is Lincoln himself ,seeing, in the bits and pieces of life that pass daily below, the qualities that made him great. Humor, ambition, loyalty, honesty and faith go into a student and remain with him throughout life, only to be repeated in his children and his childrens children. lt takes a while to realize that this invisible something is a part of you, of your life at Lincoln, Perhaps it may come some night as you drive past the school on your way to Late's and look at the soft lights outlining the tower against the sky or perhaps as from this same tower, come the mellow notes of i'Taps and you get an uncomfortable feeling in your throat as you think, lt's all over. But it isnt over, not really. Some- day in the distant future you will sit back and remember how you dec- orated Lincoln's picture with crepe paper on Red-White day and how you grumloled at having to learn the the Gettysburg address, and you'll feel good. Crowds cheered and shouted as they welcomed the Belles and Beaus from Arlington, Virginia. The annual College Day introduced juniors and seniors to various colleges and concepts of lile there X Tradition prevailed as the students took over the library grounds on Flambeau-signing night Opening
