Frank Birch GIRLS HONORED, below, left to right-Ioyce Muehlberg, Lynn Fishbeck -5 mir -' -1- -'--rf Leadership Honored VER 750 boys from Wisconsin met at the sixteenth an- nual Badger Boys' State held last lune at Ripon Cole lege. Among them were five boys representing Manito- woc. A faculty committee chose a group of eligible junior boys and submitted the names to the American Legion. The American Legion selected the boys who attended. At Badger Boys' State the representatives were taught the function of state, county and municipal government. The Legion sponsors Boys' State but individual boys are financed by service clubs of the city, The Teens Against Polio campaign was undertaken by Badger Boys this year, Extensive reading will play an important part in the success of the students taking the National Merit Scholar- ship examination. Three Lincoln students passed the qualifying test and will compete with students throughout the country for the scholarship which is offered. S f da, , QL N ff A i YNN FISHBECK was voted this year's re- cipient of the annual DAR award presented by the Daughters of the American Revolution. The voting was done by seniors in the problems N of democracy classes. Lynn was entered in -'Q 1 ' Q .
