f' ' V-al' ' 5Q'Q3 09, n 'F .QV WHILE THE Jumoas AND soPHoMoRr:s are still doing routine class work, the seniors, dressed in blue jeans and jackets begin learning to march in step to the strains of Aida . Every morning, the seniors, with Mr. William Iones and the band, assemble in the bowl to practice marching. The boys have a hard time learning to keep step to the music, but soon learn to follow the baton. After the practice is finished for the day, seniors gather on the bowl steps to sign FLAMBEAUS and talk about the big day, The girls dis- cuss formals while the boys just talk about summer plans. The ground crew is also working to get the bowl in shape for the day. Bleachers must be put up to accommo- date the large crowds. White picket fences and lilac trel- lises are arranged to form a path to the speakers' platform, Flower girls worry about their flowers' wilting while the seniors only worry about getting their diplomas. After the distribution of the diplomas, the Alma Mater is sung, Taps is sounded, and the seniors are formally graduated.
