'Mace mae named ROADMASTERS The Class of '48 elected Germaine Kanter Best Citizen. The nominations were made by the senior class, and the three candidates With the highest number of votes were voted on by the faculty. Badger Boys and the Badger Girl chosen to participate in the Week-long activity in Ripon and Madison were Audrey Boeck- man, William McElligott, lack Zahn and Donald Stephenson. Iohn Tangen and Clifford Maurer were absent when the picture was taken. ' Chosen for their outstanding work on the four publications, thirty-five students were recommended by Miss Dorothy Crain, director of publications, for membership in the Quill and Scroll International Honorary Society for high school journalists. To be elected to Quill and Scroll each student must be a junior or senior, must have a recommendation from his adviser, and must have done outstanding work on publications. BLUE HEAVEN at the After registering in the gilded roll call book of Saint Peter, we ascended the stairway to heaven surrounded by billowy clouds on all sides. As we entered through those Pearly Gates, we found the gym completely transformed into a Blue Heaven, the theme of the 1948 Iunior Prom. On their throne, King Don Novy and his Queen Audrey Podrabsky look happily over the couples whom they ruled. Manitowoas own Bob Mlada, his trumpet, and his orchestra gave forth with really heavenly music. Oh, Gabriel, blow your horn! Chief highway commissioner on this construction job was Alan lohnsrud, He and his crew did a class A piece of work, to make this prom one to remember. 1 Above-Don Novy, Prom King elect, pauses before morning classes to talk to the queen of his choice, Audrey Podrabsky. The picture depicts typical Lincolnites. Left-General Prom Chairman Alan lohnsrud can manage a smile even though he is knee deep in the usual prom preparations and worries. Page 23
