for the HESE ARE the students who spice Lincoln life with activity, and uphold the school's line democratic ideals. The Student Council is a representative group which helps to construct the path to achievement and success. Mr. Erickson, our new adviser, has been very cap- able in guiding Council decisions. Members of the Student Council are elected by the students in homerooms in the tall. From then, until the end ot the school term, they are kept busy with lyceum programs and reorganiz- ing and keeping school activities up to par. The Council meets every Tuesday to discuss the problems of the school, and to plan activities which include Orientation day, Pre-Prom, Mid- semester, and Homecoming. They also con- ducted the March ot Dimes campaign and did much to encourage the sale ot stamps and STUDENT COUNCIL bonds each week in the homerooms. A well- tormulated Student Code was originated by the Council to place betore the community, as well as the student body, a picture of what ct good student strives to be. Resumed after a lapse of several years, Stu- dent Government day was a big success. Ger- ald Salinsky, principal, lames Maples, vice-prin- cipal, and David Tess, guidance director, were elected to take over these otlices by their fellow council members. ln the classrooms student teachers were chosen to assume the duties of the regular teachers. ln this way many ot the students were able to visualize the important chores and responsibilities of their educators. This is the Student Council, a most important vehicle on the Lincoln Hi-Way. Le!! to right, row l.
