Amidst the noise ot the students leaving school you can hear Tom Pekarske yell, lt's your serve! as he and luck Ruth- erford play a peppy game of ping-pong. ln the gym you'll find Conrad Swiggum, Carl Butler. Bill Rohr, Bob Icrgodinsky swinging on the ropes. As you go outside you can see Staff Photographer Tom Rees and his assistant, Dean Vollendori, taking time off for a game of horseshoe. Then as you cut down across the track you're bound to see Tom Riggs and Bill Sepnafski out for a jaunt. we alway hit home when lincoln's NOMETHING new has been added! Mr. Frank D Granitz, a new member ot Lincoln's teaching staff, is coaching a sport also new at Lincoln, baseball, That is, baseball hasn't been played iere for twenty-two years. So it's new to us. Sixty-three candidates reported for practice he beginning ot the season. Mr. Granitz said heir attitude was wonderful. Coach Granitz is very interested in baseball. ie has played ever since he can remember, at Jlessmer High School in Milwaukee and on several amateur teams. He was in the army xirtorce for three years, Mr. Granitz attended he University of Wisconsin. During our first Season of baseball We played -ight games. This is a fairly new sport in ill high schools.
