T LINCOLN as in Our Town. there are honors and awards given to those TN. Q J who work for them. Though we don't hold the position ot mayor or sheriff. Til our office is one of honor, achieved through perseverance and hard work. We're ..... fb I the students who do those extra things gi outside the classroom. The highest award given in our school is that of Senior Ace. We must excel W: in class work and also in extracurricular activities - a good all-round student. We seniors were all mulling through our memories early this spring try- -ev ing to remember all the things we'd done that deserved credit, and after cz great deal of painstaking work, the results were finally announced. This year our top senior ace is Ardis Krainik who piled up a total of 88 points breaking the all-time record held by Lois Bruechert '46 by 1.3 points. Our National Honor society Qi based on scholarship, leadership. service. and character is limited to fifteen per cent of our seniors and five per cent of our . , YW VU, juniors. New members can be justly proud they were chosen for the . f? process of electing them is intricate, exacting. and wearing work, involving more than five thousand computations. fWe were lucky to have an adding machine.D U 4 Mr. Edwin Erickson is our able adviser and we elected as officers. Fred Vogelsang, president. Iohn Nickles, vice president, and Wilma Olm, treasurer. Helping to take care of student affairs is our Student Council. The most ,fr publicity we members ever get IS when homeroom elections by run hot and heavy at the beginning of school, but we accomplish a lot all year long, from activity tickets to dances. Leading us in this democratic enterprise is Thomas Riggs, president of the council, and Mr. Ernest Ludwig. our adviser. The honor most coveted by any junior girl is that of Prom Queen. This year Bill McElligott, junior class president. chose Audrey Boeckman to reign with him as queen and lead the grand march through a southern plantation scene. Those who hold these honors rank high in the annals of Lincoln high. LJ fm
