Zin Mvmuriam On September twenty-eighth, Lincoln stu- dents lost not only a teacher but a friend, a per- son who, by his encouragement and help, made school a pleasanter and a happier place. Mr. Burke has left his imprint upon us, not only because of his rare sense of humor and kind disposition in class but also because of his per- sonal and kindly interest in all student activi- ties. Alf ,If vvu' lrllliurki' As an American history teacher in Lincoln High School for the past ten years, Mr. Burke's untiring service was one of the outstanding factors in the upbuilding of student education. Because we realize the unselfish devotion with which he served, because we remember his high ideals, his sincerity, unquenchable en- thusiasm, and kindly wisdom, we wish to pay this last tribute to him lone Riederer, who would have been a member of this year'S graduating class, passed away on june 9, 1933, just at the time when her life's outlook was most promising. Although with us only two years, she was keenly interested in extra-curricular activities. Her service as secretary of our class for two years stands out eminently in our memory of her. lone also served as vice president of the Home Economics Club in her freshman year, and as a sophomore, was an active and interested member of the Biology Club. She was blessed with a kind disposition and great ambition, having one of the highest scho- lastic averages in our class. A striking combina- nation of faithfulness and gentleness, lone pos- sessed high ideals and upright principles. To us, her passing meant the loss of a dear friend and Schoolmatc- lone Ricdercr
