FOREWORD To everyone at some time in some form comes the call of the unknown-a thirst for knowledge which leads him into adventures of the mind through books and under faculty guidance or-the call of the open road which leads him to far places and distant lands. Arabia with its warm suns, dark skinned peoples, and strange customs symbolizes adventure. Our Flambeau records for you, in illustrated form, the happenings of one adventurous year. If, in times to come, as you pause in your adven- turings to glance through the pages of this book, you will recall earlier days-days of adventures in learning and in warm-hearted companionship-then this Arabian edition of our Flambeau will have accomplished its purpose.
