June and January gradua+es of 'rhe orches+ra are Dave Albee, Dan Barr, Jean Cu+hber+, Barbara Dade, Phil Davis, Noel DeWin'rer, Mary Enerson, Gay Gumpper, Sarah Lewellen, Nancy LiHle, Helen Rine- har+, Doro'rhy Smi+h, Marqarei Wille'r+, Dempsey Williams, and Dave WoH'er. Orches'rra players gain valuable ex+ra experience in ensemble work while par+icipa+ing in +he sfring quar+e+s, which meei' every Wednesday. The girls sang a+ +he Fall, Chris+mas, and Spring concerfs and compe+ed in rhe Disfricf Fesfival. By sfudying 'rhe works of many composers, +he girls have gained an apprecia+ion of fine music which will lasl for years. Those smooih, popular music sounds 'rhal' slu- denfs have been hearing are +he sounds of fhe Lincoln High Dance Band, one of 'Phe newer organi- zaiions here al' Lincoln High School. The band, numbering fourieen musicians, is dir- ecfed by Mr. Nicholas Cannici, who also plays al'l'o saxophone in fhe band. This 'rwo year old band has performed af many dances here a+ Lincoln during 'Phe pas'r year including +he Sadie Hawkins Day Dance and fhe annual Band Bounce. The dance band repeloire numbers over one hundred dance funes including many popular hif +unes. June '57 graduafes who play in +he dance band are, Dave Albee, Dan Barr, Phil Davis, Noel DeWin+- er, Bill Green, and Dave Woller. ig. Under +he direc'rion of Mr. Nicholas Cannici, assisfed by Mr. Rober+ DeLoose, +he band was very busy fhis pas+ season. ln January, fhe annual Band Bounce was presenied in which +he band gave a pop concerl' of Broadway hi+s. In March, 'lhe band 'lraveled lo Ypsilanii for 'lhe an- nual band fes+ival where +hey performed very well. The band also was seen in ifs annual band-choir con- cer+ fhis pasi' spring. Bandsmen of +he January, I957 gradua+ing class are, Cliff Doehring, Howard Gunn, and Eugene Lan- gevin. June I957 graduales are Dave Albee, Dan Barr, Diane Blyih, Phil Davis, Noel DeWin+er, Mary Enerson, Bill Green, Joyce Johnson, Bob Jurovilc, Sarah Lewellen, Bob Love, Donna Madden, Rebecca McDeviH, Doro+hy Smifh, and Dave Wol+er.
