Senior Class Histor Four long but wonderful years ago the Senior Class of Esko High School start- ed their Freshmen year with thirty-five Freshman, Randy Roen was elected as Class President with Gail Nickila, SecretarygRonald Liikala, Vice-Presidentg and MaryAnn Johnson, Treasure, Mr. Hakala was our Class Advisor. Barbara Norgorden and Rich- ard Terway were our Student Council Representatives, After three months of vacation we started our Sophmore year. To help us with our Sok-Hop we had Mr. Saksa and Mr. Knuti as our Class Adv1sors.Randy Roen, Pres- ldentg Leona Lulpakka, Vice-Presidentg Marlene Lyytinen, Secretaryg and Mary Ann Johnson as Treasure of our Class. Richard Terway and David Mattlnen were ourStud- ent Council Representatives. To start off the year as very HB1gn Juniors we elected Randy Roen as ourClass Presidentg Ronald Liikala, Vice-Presidentg Barbara Burggraff, Secretary and Mary Ann Johnson as our Treasure. To help us with the Junior-Senior Prom we had Mr. Ferguson and Mr. Saksa as our Class Advisors. F. . Activities August-1956 At the Community Fair the senior Boys exhibited booth on landscaping and won grand championship prize. The dairy judging team went to the State Fair and took part in the dairy judging contest. Sept.-1956 we attended the Leadership Rally in Hibbing. Honorary Farmers Degree was received by Mr. Saksa. October-1956-John Harney won the local cow clipping contest.Some of the boys and Mr. Saksa attended the National F.F,A. Convention at Kansas City, Missouri for one week. January-1957-Mr, Saksa left his position as Agriculture Teacher and Mr. Jacobson took his place. Officers for the 1956-57 school year were: Presedent, Art Manistog Vice President, Richard Rowe, Secretary, David Sota, Treasurer, David Pulineg Reporter, Melvin Mattsong and Sentinel, Dale Mattson. The chapter took part in several events this year. This in brief will tell of them, April-1956 The judging teams took part in the Judging contest held at Grand Rapids. May-1956 Two delegates and the horticulture team went to the State F,F.E, Convention.
