Officers chosen for the first year were Ernest Bylkas, president: Richard Smith, vice-president: Kath- leen Juntunen, secretary: and Edna Pykkonen, treasurer. Class advisors were Mr. Robert Bowman and Mr. Michael Hnatko. Following an enjoyable summer vacation, we returned to resume our studies as sophomores. The hard- working officers were Ernest Bylkas, president, Kathleen Juntunen, vice presidentg June Johnson, secretary: and Joyce Kalli, treasurer. We were under the excellent guidance of Miss Kathryn Andres and Mr. Leslie Knuti who played an important part in planning a very successful Sok-Hop. The September of 1953 found this famous class enrolled as nonchalant juniors. The class elected Ronald Waterhouse. presidentg Warner Johnsonpwice presidentg Carol Hendrickson, secretaryg and Kathleen Juntunen, treasurer. Preparations are now being made for the Junior-Senior Prom under the able guidance of our class advisors, Miss Vivian Georgeson and Mr. Clarence Tuura. LAST WILL AND TESTAMENTH We, the Senior class of Esko High School, in the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-four, being of sound .mind, and not acting under the influence of any person or drug, do hereby publish our last will and testament in the following manner: To Mr. Johnson, we give back his favorite saying quiet down, children, which he used on us, with the sincere hope that he will be able to use it again next year. Individually, we make the following bequests: I, Alvin Ceaglske, leave the only slidable trombone to Carol Martin. I, Margie Erickson, leave my carefree disposition to Ervin Lassila. I, Alice Gallea, leave my cheerleading' sweater and culottes in the hands of Kenneth Hammarlund, who should make a great hit in them. I, Robert Gordon, leave to disturb Miss Stiel no longer. I, Mary Granholm, gleefully leave my love for school to Joyce Kalli and Ronald Waterhouse. I, Marvin Heikkinen, leave my curly-locks to Roger Bottila, so he doesn't have to have a Toni every month. I, Nancy Hennum, permit Janice Nelson and Norman Barney to keep any wad of gum found on the school premises, provided that the wad be chewed in class time. I, Donald Johnson, leave my quiet ways to Kay Juntunen and Elvie Kinnunen, who sure could use them. I, Viola Johnson, leave my True Romance magazines to Miss Darwin Bottila. I, Dennis Juntunen, leave myknow-how to Donald Terwey, who doesn't know how. I, Gladys Juntunen, leave my elaborate wardrobe to Alma Granholm and Shirley Mattson. I, Joan Kinnunen, leave my sermons to Leslie Southworth and Raymond Lawson, who should listen to a few. I, Janet Kivisto, leave my research work on '1'You Too Can Grow Tall to Richard Smith. I, Warren Lindell, leave my mischievious antics to Ronald Korby and War- ner Johnson. I, Dale Liupakka, leave my mechanical tools to Marion Nynas. I, Elaine Mattson, leave my skillful basketball playing to Harold Bergstedt, who is stiff competition. , I, Sally Moilanen, leave my glasses to June Johnson, in hopes that she will see her way through. I, Sylvia Moilanen, leave my peaches and cream cornplesion to Sharon Bergeman. I, Donald Oja, leave my love-making techniques to Ernest Bylkas, who al- ready has quite a collection of his own. I, Bette Pera, leave my make-up slips to Carol Hendrickson in hopes that she can do the job of finishing them. I, Marlen Perttula, leave my position onthe A honor roll to Billy Black. I, June Puline, leave my milking technique to Robert Johnson, hoping he'll pull through. I, Wallace Randa, leave my witty remarks to Edna Pykkonen, to be used when opportunity presents itself. I, Lauren Stenroos, leave my affable personality to Donald Rontti h I, Joan Van Valkenburg, leave James Bergstedt, to warm his own hands in c orus. I, Patricia Van Wave, leave some of my blubber to Donald Rowe,so he will have more bounce to the ounce. We, the Senior Class of 1954, leave because there is nothing else to do. 45 ' , .- f 199W-Q,. 113' Wx X ,MM wwf 'W- s ff: L LPS' ,ffl I 4 L ' ' . ,H M wwf, SWL Akkr , , K .
