physiology class gains prominence in health department. Ralph Stewart Sandra Streit Robert Wallis Howell Williams Donald Winegar Clara Wooster Physical education and health classes combined to develop good health habits and physical fitness. In boys' gym classes indi- vidual coordination was developed through wrestling and gymnastics while team sports, such as basketball and cageball, emphasized team cooperation. Girls participated in phys- ical fitness testing programs and then im- proved their weak skills with exercises, vol- leyball, kickball, and dancing. Supplementing the physical program, the health classes studied the body and its function, and many students elected an advance course in physi- ology and anatomy.
