The listening pleasure that resulted from this music was heartily accepted by the citizens of Ellwood City. These organizations, by their many per- formances which were colorful ancl gay, set the varied moods of the townspeople because they provided an opportunity for these individuals to stop their daily chores and reflect momentarily about the lighter side of life. Lincoln High's young instrumentalists and singers not only contributed many hours of practice for their respective groups as school organizations performing before the town, but also as individuals employed in small dance bands or as independent entertainers. The town realized how well Lincoln High had encouragedthe musical training of her students
