it , J!, ll 'lihis is your lfl.I.WUOIJI.X5. lt is a pict 'e and word story representing the activities of the school as you, the student body, live and remember it. The world in which we live is three dimensional. XYe work and live in prismatic rooms and travel in a combination of cylinders, spheres, and other rectangular solids. In fact, the earth itself is spherical. We feel that our education is also in three dimensions, and for this reason we present the 1954 ELLXYOODIAN in three dimensions. In geometry an object with length and width is termed a plane figure. But given depth, the object comes to life as a solid. In this manner our education and our book is severed into two major divisions-length-width and depth. Vfiithin these two are many sub-divisions. In the first section the length is portrayed by the administration and the faculty who provide us the opportunity to learn, help us solve our numerous teen-age problems, aid us in choosing vocations. Depicting the width in this portion is the student body itself. The schools extra-curricular activities such as clubs, sports, and music compose the second division-the all-important depth of our education. ln sports we learn fair play and team spirit. Clubs teach us to work and play with other individuals, and a true appreciation of good music is stressed by the Music Department. The product of this three way influence is a well adjusted human being. So, we turn the final page and refiect a moment and we realize now that it has been the student who is the focal point in this 3-dimensional education. He has roxy fundamental learning and has added depth to his character. M M WW QPWZQM C il
