NE Hundreds of students were being led into the gym like cattle. Mr. Ingle was screaming, Please be seated as quickly as possible! even though there was no use trying to outyell the buzzing of the crowd. When things finally did settle down, the first pep rally was underway. As usual the pep rally was organized to raise spirit for the fall athletics, and to welcome every- one back to school. However, there were a few extras in this celebration. The many new teachers and the new administrative staff were introduced. The whole staff stressed that they would help Lincoln set and reach new goals. To start this year off, Pepsi and Coke machines were put in the main hall. This was the beginning of a fresh new out- look for ALHS, by the students them- selves and by outsiders as well. Throughout the year, Dr. Johnson was seen in the hallways during passing periods. She would stop and talk to the students and urge them to hurry to class and be on time. The students were pleased with the new administration and faculty and appre- ciated their concern for the student body. B. Deidel - 'K ff-- 5 ' -.,f .-'f-' 4 W , ii ... . 4 ALHS CELEBRATE ....

Mr. Jordan said, The Pepsi ma- chines are more popular than the Coke. Most of the students were over- joyed and the faculty had no com- plaints. Mrs. Lawson said, It was a great idea and I only hope that the next one is a juice machine. The vending machines were an added surprise to an already exciting year for the students at Lincoln high. The janitors, however, were upset about the mess students were making in 'the halls, classrooms and on the stair- ways. The students were thankful to Dr. Johnson who was very open-minded and willing to give the students at Lincoln a chance to have the machines. C. Talavera ALHS 3 CELEBRATE E . y 1
