The ever changing skyline of Denver grew continually from day to day. Upward and onward went the Mile High City. Culture was more and more evident in Denver with the construction of the new Denver Center of the Performing Arts to bring us such classical greats as lean-Pierre Rampal, Van Cliburn, and Colorado's own Eugene Fodor. In order to accommodate the ever growing, record breaking crowds for events at Mile High Stadium, new seats were being built to hold over 70,000 people eventually. Mile High hosted many musical groups including the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and the seemingly immortal Beach Boys. It is also the home of the pennant winning Denver Bears and the always popular Denver Broncos, under the coaching of lohn Ralston. The Broncos looked great in pre- season wins over the Dallas Cowboys, the Minnesota Vikings, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Denver then dropped the first game of the season to Cincinnati and won the next three games against the lets, the Browns, and the Chargers before losing to the Oilers and the Raiders. At press time, they were 4 and 3 and ready to face their archrival, the Oakland Raiders tshudderi for the second time. McNichols Sports Arena was also the site of many large, crowd-gathering events. lt is the home of the NBA Denver Nuggets lYEA!J and the NHL Colorado Rockies fyeall. The Nuggets, Denver's darlings, after a record setting season last year, looked forward to an exciting year in the NBA. Enthusiastic fans bought over 10,000 season tickets. Record breaking crowds were also on hand to see such greats as Paul McCartney and Wings, the jefferson Starship, and the flamboyant Elton john. How 'bout ya there, Ratchet jaw, in your superskate. You got a copy on the Carrot Top? What's your 10-20, guy? Ratchet jaw here. You're comin' in wall to wall and treetop tall. I'm ready for some jaw-jacking. My 10-20 is the big campus across from Lincoln High School. You want to give me a 10-9 on that? M 10-20 is the big campus across from Lincoln High School. What's the big campus, Ratchet jaw? Mercy sakes, Carrot Top! What are you, some kind of a flake? You mean to tell me you've never made the scene on Federal Boulevard across from Lincoln High School? Why they got more Eat-Um-Ups than you can shake your Colonel Sander's drumstick at. They's a Winchells, a Taco Bell, a Dairy Queen, an A84W Rootbeer, a Burger King, and the fanciest new McDonalds you ever did see! And WHOOEEE! just look at them bodacious legs on the local teeny boppers and the size of those jocks! Roger D, Ratchet jaw, I made that scene many a year ago because I graduated from that ile of bricks. Those are the same places I hung around? The places are the same, but the faces have changed and I LOVE those new faces. So stop your jaw-jacking and put the hammer down. We'll catch you on the flip-flop, Ratchet law. We gone. Bye-bye.
