We, however, are privileged to have a truly ideal teacher in our midst at Lincoln. This man does much more than merely instruct scholastically. He is constantly boosting our morals, he is known for his sincerity of character. The dignity of the individual is. to him, of primary importance in education. He is ded- icated to enriching the lives of each and every student in any way possible. This quality he has, this deep-rooted devotion to his students, is not often found in any profession. His true love of people is, indeed, a rarity. When we experience failures, he probes to find the reason for and solution to these failures, when we are troubled, he helps us to see our problems in a true light. He is active in school functions, takes an interest in all sports, and coaches the school tennis team. As a counselor, he helps us gain inspiration for the future, he introduces us to the possibilities of a future vocation in which we are well suited. This man uses fully every gift granted him in his profession, he is at the top of our list. We all know him for his sincere interest in each of us. As we venture forth into the future, we shall not forget him. He has given to us a never- to-be-forgotten part of himself. His image will be embedded in our memories and those of all who have known him. lt is with great pride that the members of the yearbook staff dedicate the 1965 President to Mr. John Schrant, whom, in our hearts, we have found to be a truly ideal teacher.
