Here at Lincoln we are fortunate to have a Student Credit Association which handles all class activity finances. Students are afforded an opportunity to earn commissions by selling cards, working at school activities, solicit- ing ads, working in the school supply store and other various tasks. With the money earned, the students can help defray the cost of a high school student's senior year. The duties of a student credit representative are: purchasing refreshments for dances, sales of tickets to all school affairs and ordering spring and Christmas cards and school supplies. The team got off to a slow start in the Inter-Lakes League and con- sequently wound up with a two won six lost record. However, they fared much better in the Michigan High School Forensic League. The affirmative and negative team took decisions over Roseville High School' and Royal Oak High School. The negative team also won over Cass Tech to give the team a five won three lost record and qualifying for the elimination tournament. This tournament was held in Durand, Michigan. Martha Castleberry and joan Pritchard represented the Lincoln squad against a team from Bad Axe, Michigan. The judges cast a two - one decision for Bad Axe thus eliminating Lincoln. The Detroit Free Press presented the school with a plaque for Excellence in Debating and each debater received a Certificate of Merit. L. to R, Seated M, Castleben-y J. Pritchard, J. Peters, N. Kay.
