I am present in all students , but some do not express me as well as others. Those who use me are worthy of leadership. They are respected by others and therefore are capable of leading others . My work shows best in Lincoln High through the classes, clubs , and sports. Since the success of any organization depends upon the inspiration afforded by its leaders , these are the people who are the most outstanding examples of me. Come with me through the halls of Lincoln High School by means of this Nineteen Hundred and Fifty-Seven Com- mander and I will show you the many students of which I have become a part.- Dorotha Gray .... The highlight of the season was a 14-13 w over arch-rival Center Line. The win avenged last year's defeat and returned the Little Brown Jug to the Abes for another year. The defending champions of the Inter-Lakes League slipped to third place with a two win, two loss and one tie league mark. The outstanding league game saw the Lincoln Squad wreck the Southfield Homecoming with a crushing 26-7 victory. The non-league loss to Hazel Park, 13-10, will long be remembered as a hard fought game with the emphasis on the fought. The game ended in a free for all and the long series between the schools seems to have reached an abrupt ending. Co-Captains Tom Thorpe and Orba Underwood were the spark that lit the winning fires in the Abe Camp. Captains elect for 1957, Charlie Day and Bob Martin anchored a stout line for Lincoln, Seniors Roy Abbott, Richard Kern, Richard Stafford, Paul Wright, john Kontos, john Polazzi and Fred Maru. All contributed to the winning efforts and will be sorely missed next season. Coaches Saxton, Mc- Millan, and Shankie worked hard throughout the season and are looking forward to the 1957 season with a good deal of optimism. The football squad was heartbroken when Mr. McMillan was taken ill and forced to temporarily retire to Co-Captains Managers O. Underwood, T. IS fhiS 2111 the IDODQY for tOd2Y? STUDE T REDIT Working your way through school can be beneficial. Here at Lincoln we are fortunate to have a Student Credit Association which handles all class activity finances. Students are afforded an opportunity to earn commissions by selling cards, working at school activities, solicit- ing ads, working in the school supply store and other various tasks. With the money earned, the students can help defray the cost of a high school student's senior year. The duties of a student credit representative are: purchasing refreshments for dances, sales of tickets to all school affairs and ordering spring and Christmas cards and school supplies. We feel that our Student Credit Association is vital to the smooth operation of our school. .., , il- fl e 2 ' s il lst. Row L. to R. B. Chapman, A. Potter, S. Ohrner, F. Ellis, B.
