Silence reigns as Principal Edwin Schneider speaks to student body. Administrators Strive to Make Year Successful I am a part of all that I have metg Yet all experience is an arch wherethrough Gleams that untraveled world whose margin fades Forever and forever when I move. --Tennyson The high school years are a particularly significant period of youth. They can be a time for growth physically, morally and intellectuallyg a time for developing relationships that bring lifelong satisfactionsg a time of preparation for the long years of life ahead. I hope this year has, for each of you, provided experiences which extended the horizons of your world and made its subtle contours more perceptible. I hope you have welcomed each new experience as a challenge to grow, and see more distinctly, and appreciate more fully. As for the years ahead, let us approach them with anticipation. --Mr. Edwin Schneider 12 Yearbook co-editors Helene Hornstein and George Brice stress a point with Vice-Principal Henderson.

From the freshman to the senior years, students improve reading, oral and written expression, listening and the general understanding of the English language. In the freshman course, the basic fundamentals of grammar are learned. Types of literature and various styles and techniques are introduced in the sophomore classes. American literature is studied in the third year while the senior year is based on English literature. Pilot classes are offered at all levels, and one Shakespeare play is studied each year. 14 Candy Patton listens attentively to Mr. Macoubrie
