OLIN L. WILLS, PRINCIPAL Mr. Wills, who is now rounding out a decade as Lincoln's principal, was a seasoned member of the West Side community before being elevated to his present position. His two-year tenure as vice-principal at Portland's Franklin High School was preceded by a period as teacher of mathematics and physics at Lincoln, beginning in the l920's. Beside his teaching duties he served as adviser to publications, and supervised the school's book store and finance. Like every busy executive, Mr. Wills finds that his individual job, which in his case is the general planning for and supervision of the school's program, is sufficiently heavy to require all of his time. However, as a conscientious member of the commtmity, he does not decline membership and committee work in a limited number of civic organizations. Three groups which he feels best co-ordinate with useful projects related to secondary education are: Kiwanis Club, Commlmity Council, and Portland Traffic Safety Council. Mr. Wills is also a past director of the Portland Civic Opera Company. 10
