Wills. Atter Miss Buclcley, tormer head and veteran instructor ot the department, had retired, Mr. Wills stepped into the position. The purpose ot the Mathematics Department is three-told: First -the practical aim, to teach the tundamental processes and terms ot arithmetic and algebra: second-the disciplinary aim, to develop one's mind and ability in thinlcing in terms ot mathematics: third-the cultural aim, to develop the appreciation ot beauty in the geometric torms ot nature and the powers ot mathematics in the development ot civilization. New curriculum requiremenls have been added, such as modern one-acl' plays, modern biography, and The sludy of such currenl' publicaiions as The Readers Digest The English slaff is composed of fhirleen full-lime leachers and lwo parl-lime ieachers. The lalenis and accomplishmenls of ihese Teachers range from winier sporis io making fudge.
