Wills. Atter Miss Buclcley, tormer head and veteran instructor ot the department, had retired, Mr. Wills stepped into the position. The purpose ot the Mathematics Department is three-told: First -the practical aim, to teach the tundamental processes and terms ot arithmetic and algebra: second-the disciplinary aim, to develop one's mind and ability in thinlcing in terms ot mathematics: third-the cultural aim, to develop the appreciation ot beauty in the geometric torms ot nature and the powers ot mathematics in the development ot civilization.
