School Board Opens Year at Lincoln Port Arthur Independent School District teachers, aides, and administrators met on Wednesday, August 17, for the opening of the 1983-84 school year. For the first time in the history of the district, founded in 1899, the meeting at which the school board and the ad- ministration present the goals for the year was held on the Lincoln campus. When Dr. Louis Reed, assistant superintendent for instruction and program evaluation, spoke of holding the meeting at Lin- coln as part of the districtts ef- fort to Hpromote the oneness which we all desire? he evoked enthusiastic applause.
