MILITARY FORCES VISIT CAMPUS Representatives from various branches of the armed forces visited campus during the year to promote their recruiting program and to establish good public relations with the school and community. Many representatives, some former Lincoln students tUwere able to speak with students individually and others at such as the Air Force band performed for a representative portion of the student body.

AMERlCAN EDUCATION WEEK World History Classes Hold Egyptian Exhibit The World History Classes of Mrs T. Thomas, Mrs. M. Dixon, and Mr. Cordell Lindsey had an exhibit in the school library on a variety of projects dealing with ancient history. Many of the projects made by students were miniature models of pyramids of Egypt, mid houses of Egypt, clay tablets of Mesopotamia, furniture of Egypt and Mesopotamia, transportation carts of Egypt and clothing of Egypt and Mesopotamia. Other activities included posters showing various cultural aspects of the Romans and Greekst One of the purposes of these projects was to help students to gain a greater appreciation for history and the correlation of it with the present. NEW ACTIVITIES DI RECTOR ARRIVES After approximately two months of waiting, a new activities director, Mrt John Williams, formerlya teacher at Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson High Schools respectively, finally arrived on campus. Mr, Williams stated that he was anxious to get the school calendar program underway and looked forward to a very good year t0 Students were eager to begin scheduling activities. Mrt Williams' arrival coincided with preparation for the Christmas holidays. at Classroom doors were decorated, OD bulletin board displays were prepared and at the art department displayed student projects in the lobby of the main building.
