Hebert defeated Lincoln in a come-from-behind effort leaving the score 20-13. The lopsided scor- ing did not end at Greenie Stadium but continued in defeats with BCP. new district entrant: PNG, state champions; and Nederland. the underdog Bulldogs. The following week a big defen- sive effort by the Bees helped to bring them ahead in their defeat over the Forest Park Trojans, 1970, ending a fourAgame losing streak. Again the Bees returned full blast in heavy rain against the Vidor Pirates, 28-8. The. Victory was shortAlived for the team following the game with the cross town rival, TJ, who defeated Lincoln. During the first unofficial season of gixls' basketball, Lincoln girls, varsity and junior varsity, dominated the season scoreboards by consistently defeating local high schools. Track And Field Overall Records The year 1976-77 was one of good results for Lincoln's track and field teams. In district track the Bees took third place and in regionals sixfh. Terrance Prevost had a fourth place win in the regional disgus throw while Lincoln 440-relayers - Willie Mansfield, Joseph Chillow. Burl Fisher and Winston Lockwood placed sixth. With Leroy Leopold as coach, Lincoln has had a fine track season. George Washington represented the local district in the Mr. FTA competition. Although hi: did not win, George made an excellent showing.
