1975 BUMBLEBEE LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL? PORT ARTHU R, TEXAS School life seems a long road where each individual must choose his place and in choosing must find his self identity. As each of us travels through the corridors of Lincoln, we seek to identify ourselves with the world around us by understanding the complexities of our universe. But we find that full understanding does not exist within the cover of a book alone, but must be achieved through every facet of contact with those around us. Therefore we find Lincoln students traveling every avenue of endeavor in their search. Everywhere we turn there are. Bees Breakin' Out All Over! Shakespeare's Othello Proves Winner Othello by William Shakespeare, one of his deepest and most moving plays, was the 1975 UIL selection of the Lincoln players. The play, with its fast action and dramatic parts, placed first in district and area competition. Under the direction of MI. Henry Mayes, the eight-member cast showed all of the marks of true-acting ability and professionalism as Best Actor and All-Star positions were boasted over by four members in three areas of competition. Anyone with taste and literary appreciation can say that the ver- sion of Othello was one marked with maturity and stage experience beyond the high school level. Music, costuming and most of all timing were precise. Congratulations for a fine performance and encouragmem for continued work by Mr. Mayes and the Lincoln players are in order. Dr. U. G. Gibson was a man who touched the lives of many people both as a professional and as a friend. He gave untiringly of himself to his community. DI. Gibson will always be remembered especially by the students and staff of Lincoln who saw so much of him during athletic seasons. For many years he mended the sore muscles and injured limbs of young men who made up the Lincoln High School Bumblebees. Those who sat in the stands watched the games with confidence, knowing he was right at hand and some- times taking his presence for granted. The advertisers have not only aided us financially but also spiritually. All have responded enthusiastically whenever we have called upon them for support of our activities and productions. For this we are indeed grate- This production will provide many wonderful memories of this school year for those who have affiliated in any way with the program at Lincoln . . . the advertisers are indeed partly responsible for providing such memories. Therefore, the 1975 Bumblebee staff salutes yog, the advertisers, who continuously make the editions of the Bumblebee publication a reality .
