A Fesrive Mood, A Quiet Moment Hold on to thor spirit! The sophomores proclaim rheir Lincoln loyolnes ro ofl of Bloomington 'Toga! Togo! The Class of '82 celebrares its final Bear Homecoming in dosslc style A rrodirionol celebration, some new approaches ... The climax of 1981 Homecoming festivities brought nor only a pepfest ond a must-win football gome, but a colorful porode ond a formal dance as well. Although these two events ore rrodirions from Homecomings post, they contributed the distinct qualities needed to moke Homecoming 1981 unforgerable. The parade stepped our of the bounds of tradition os the band led the procession past lines of rroffic on busy Penn Avenue. Proving that a little rain couldn't dampen the Homecoming spirits of our Dears, winning smiles were found on the faces of parade participants ond spectators dike. The dance, set ro music by the grup ’’Clique'', attracted numerous Drain coupes in formal attire. Many poirs ended rheir evening with an elegant dinner for two, while orhers joined friends for more dancing, a victory celebration, or even bowling marches. A fesrive mood, a quiet moment ... Each of the rwo events enveloping the Homecoming football game added its own unique atmosphere ro the week. 16 HOMECOMING PARADE

And, when he finally asked, rhe reol problems began. Afrer all, here were preparations ro be made. A dress had ro be bought, plus accessories such os shoes, purses and shawls, had ro be found Then, of course, rhe parenrs hod ro be notified in hopes of gaining opproval and a curfew rime hod ro be ser. Feelings of elegance predominated rhe minds of most; afrer all being taken our on rhe town wos nor on everyday occurance. Losr minure derails, such as buying a bourineer, ofren were finished rhe day of rhe dance.
