Talk about skill! PHY ED Muscles flex and bodies strain as Lin- coln weight lifters enrolled in this physical education class work to develop physical fitness. Meanwhile, in the gymnasium, other phy cd students arc competing in an active volleyball game. Interested phy cd students may be in- volved in a number of activities such as gym hockey, racquet ball, basketball, soc- cer, football, or tennis. 28 INDUSTRIAL ARTS Did you ever think you could “fly in a classroom? Well, our aviation classes did this year with a simulator. In fact, most of the industrial arts classes offer unique and practical experience. Lincoln’s industrial arts classes include auto mechanics, avi- ation aerospace, drafting, electronics, flu- id power automation, graphic arts, metal work technology, photography, and wood- working technology. Students have the op- portunity to do such things as enter photo contests, print up the posters posted throughout the school, do actual “hands on” work on cars (maybe even their own), and even redesign the city of Bloomington to conform to their ideas based on class experience. Ill find it sooner or later. With the deftness and concentration of a surgeon You wouldn’t dare! BUSINESS You mean there is a right way and a wrong way to answer the telephone? Yes, business students learned, and much more as they prepared for jobs in the business area or learned business skills to help them in everyday situations. Students chose from course offerings such as related of- fice procedures, typing, accounting, re- cord keeping, bookkeeping, office ma- chines and shorthand. MATH Miras, protractors, and compasses help Lincoln math students unlock the myster- ies of the world of numbers. In addition to abstract reasoning, Lincoln math courses offer practical help in teaching students to handle their daily mathematical needs. Also included are the basics for under- standing the world of computers. Lincoln looks for great achievements from well prepared math students. SCIENCE Elective science subjects at Lincoln in- clude courses such as biology, chemistry, and environmental studies. These classes include a variety of activities such as dis- secting animals and looking at cells under a microscope. Students learned about the balance of nature in environmental studies and the skeletal structure of the human body in physiology. These and many more areas of science are explored in the varied science offerings at Lincoln, sparking in- terest in many students to expand on their knowledge of science as they continue their education. - Y f Y 30 Craig. “A wild and crazy guy!
