SADIE HAWKINS “This here license documents shur fire pruf that . . . Bein' of sound mind and bod, has dun bin hitched. This was what was heard within the Hitchin' Booth at the Sadie Hawkins dance held November 10, 1978. Steve Anderson, a former Lincoln student and traditional Marryin' Sam. performed marriage after marriage with creativity and uniqueness. Toward the end of the night, Sam conducted a mass cere- mony for about thirty couples, as time was running out. But this was not all that was happening at Sadie '78. Girls grabbed their guys to be in a pie-eating contest. The tension was building as the second group of guys were ready to start ... but wait they weren’t supposed to use their hands — OH my!!! Pics flew and hillbillies fled, teachers and guys were splattered with pic! Music was provided by Epitome. Lat- er, when recorded square dancing music was played, many couples rushed out onto the floor, anxious to get into the action, whether they knew how to square dance or not. Screams of laughter and pain were heard as couples bumped and collided on the dance floor. Many couples sho nuf saw a lot of hap- penins at Lincoln High Bcarpatch. U.S.A., this year! Overall. Jodi enjoyed Snow Week. SNOW WEEK JAN. 15-19 Chris proves that spirit does not only come in small packages. The “Mid-Winter Blues” had become an epidemic among students . . . until Lin- coln’s Snow Week. January 15-19, came to the rescue. Excitement, fashion, and school spirit tied the assorted events of Snow Week together. The first three days of the week, T-shirt Day, Overalls Day and Dress-up Day. provided an unusual dress code to follow. Many guys devoted Thurs- day to coaxing unwilling girls to talk, which forced them to give up their “Hush- Hush” button. Greg Sotcbccr was award- ed the title of Mr. Irresistible for getting the most buttons with his charm. Friday, Seniors Day, was packed full of activity. National Honor Society members deliv- ered message carnations. Abe’s Babes sponsored the noon pepfest, where they showed off their talents and introduced Winter Royalty. The junior attendants were Wes Bradford and Colleen Collins. The sophomore attendants were Sue Eppel and Charlie Wicbc. Male members of Abe’s Babes, dressed as women, presented an amusing Gong Show, while other boys led a cheer to spur them on. Then female members got into the act with their own impersonation of the school dance line. The week ended with the romance of the Winter Formal dance, “Cherished Mo- ments. and the crowning of Snow King Karsten Nelson and Snow Queen Barb Clay. Fun filled days of Snow Week provided just the remedy for the blues that Lincoln students needed. Shirts spread the word on T-shirt Day. v P 20 Bryan tops off Dress-up Day Lincoln style.
