Li'l Abner On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 13, 14, and 15 the Lincoln auditorium was transformed into the Hillbilly town of Dogpatch U. S. A. There was revealed the Saga of Daisy Mae (Jo Fischer) and Abner Yokum (Berk Hancer) who were trying to save their town and, in Daisy Mae’s case, catch a husband. They and other Dogpatch inhabitants tried to convince Artis T. Fonsdale (Cindy Kiecker) to call off the atomic bomb by proving they were a necessary town. Their necessary items ranged from the crankcase of a model T Ford to a round trip ticket to the birthplace of Elvis Presley, but in the end it was Mammy Yokems (Darla Lundy) Yokom berry tonic that saved the day. The audience seemed to enjoy the play and the cast received two standing ovations, one on opening night and the other Saturday night. The directors of the play were Mrs. Stainer and Mr. G. Barry. The student director was Steve Basiago, and Halley Leffler choreographed all dances in the play. Members of the East practice for the play. Really? You got to be kidding 1 This here's my pal, the World's Dirtiest Wrestler. Mammy and Pappy Yokum fight it out. I'm sure there's a penny around herd Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! And over here we have the National Lincoln Landmark! 28 li'l Abner
