and Assistance They Gave Advice Each counselor contributed many long hours guiding his students. Much help was needed, as the new quarter system produced many confused schedules. Administering and interpreting tests, offering advice, and listening to students’ problems with a sincere interest were just a few of the ways that the counselors showed the students they cared. Always in a hushed atmosphere, the librarians were prepared to answer the students’ questions. Without them, many students would not have finished their reports, assignments, or term papers on time, or received their overdue-book notices. Lincoln stu- dents always knew that the smile of the librarians welcomed them. Right: Can you imagine 300 students in a biology class?' Mr. Schuman asked Miss Pinten. Special Personnel Offer Services Many specialized persons offered their services to Lincoln. Teacher aides and other personnel added their talents to help both the students and the other faculty mem- bers. An audio-visual department, special education, supervision, special counselling, reading efficiency, and attendance record- keeping were provided by these persons.
